Yikwah, is an artist i found whilst browsing on DeviantART, whilst doing artist research for our past project in collaboration.
i found this image whilst researching for our piece including JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. a book by Roald Dahl, and also a personal childhood favorite. i really enjoy the child like simplicity of her work, it has real finesse, and makes the characters more loveable, and relatable. the un perfect lines and textured colours feel hand made like she’s worked on paper and scanned it in.
This image is one of my favourites she’s created. as its stereotypically humorous as, he’s in france, called “baguette boy” in a cafe drinking coffee and pastries- however the more artistic side of it what i enjoy is the fact the buildings aren’t perfect, the lines aren’t straight yet, it just works so well and looks so nice, the artistic elements this artist has included such as LINE, SHAPE, TONE. have led to her artwork conveying artistic disciplines…
