Cirque de russes was the last project i did, using the idea of Russian circus i made my own acts, and made props and costumes for them. I felt the project was strong.
However, on reflection of the grade i received, it was not the strongest project i had done. And i want to highlight WHY. First off, i didn’t have a sellable product, which as an illustrator, working to a brief, you need, i made a0 posters (which yes are sellable) but what i could have done differently was make prints of the bigger posters, post cards, business cards, something for people to take and look at.
The props should have been all at the same level of intricacy, and they were not, some were better then others and even i shall admit that, due to the time i rushed some pieces. On reflection, i feel i should have worked simultaneously on all the props, so i could get a feel for where they are up to properly, and work on them together to make them more cohesive.
Overall, i’m going to take this crit on my work, and apply it to my final project, and learn from the parts of the project that were no
t so strong.
