since the competition entries started to come back in, holly and myself have been experimenting with line, shape and colour to produce more detailed monsters. in our experimentations, we discovered, holly was a lot better at producing line drawings then me, and i enjoyed creating random textures from watercolour techniques, so we put our skill sets together and came up with this guy!
Meet Leggy- the monster based on Depression. i immediately fell in love with this character because by chance and using our skills we came up with a way f working that creates unique characters.
this way of working also makes it easier for us to think about how we could make these characters into costumes and masks, using the same textures we have used on paper. we came up with the idea of making aspects of the costumes miss proportioned, to accentuate features on the monsters.
